Audra's Arrival :)

Well finally our mc is being formed .. after many weeks of arrival she finally comes :) .. her name Audra: .. her objecctive .. is to develop herself and meet some great people :) ... her pick up time .. 2 in the mornin !! .. hehe .. doesnt sound that bad does it .. well if u were staying 163 km outside Dubai and had to wake up at 11 and leave at 12 and make sure u reach on time ... now me n daniel were pretty tired but we still had fun on the drive coz it was kinda different to travel so late at night ... but trust me .. at the end it was all worth it .. the welcoming group was very good .. it was me daniel,Deepak,Vrej,Rana and Basma.. now usually this may not seem like much .. but if you think about it .. these people have given up their sleep to come to the airport .. and it felt good to be part of smthn like that :) ... k so then Audra Arrived .. now weve seen pics and so on .. but its still different when the real thing comes .. and me not wearing my lenses had no clue who she could be ... every alternate person seemed like her .. so i just kept quiet and hoped that deepak would recognize her :P .. well neways she arrived .. and i do not know what her reaction was .. but she seemed happy once we were all there ... so then what next .. well me n daniel could not go home .. and nor could audra ... so we all decide to go out roaming around the city ... below are the adventures of AIESEC .. most of the pics are not that clear becasue the ( Photographer _ Daniel :P .. ) was too tired to take them :P ...

AIESEC Dubai goes to Ras Al Khaimah !!

Well we keep talking about it but it never seems to happen .. but this time it did !! .. we took a road trip to Ras Al Khaimah. RAK located about 140 Km from Dubai is a more culture oriented place, it still has forts and traditional souqs( Markets ) where they sell fruits and vegetables as well as traditional souviners ... now being AIESECers in Dubai , were kind lost when it comes to going to the other 6 Emirates .. Dubai is where its all at so we tend not to go exploring into unknown lands ... so we started of planning to leave at around 12pm ... but ended up leaving at 2 Pm ... hehe .. well yea we spent like 2 hours searching for each other amongs the development of Dubai !! ... well neways .. after we found each other .. we headed towards R.A.K .. and had a pretty good time .. 4 cars 12 people and a lot of road and Sand ! ... who all came ?? .. well in the Sharja car there was Melica and Vrej(Driver), in the Abu Dhabi car driven by Avi :) - was Fallon,Daniel and Martin, Audra,Deepak and Srini. and in the Male driven Dubai car ( Rana ) was Rana and Hur Bhai .. so it was all of us going on a place none of us knew about .. and the best part ... none of us carried maps .. so we were just praying there would be road signs !! ... hehe .. anyways .. as we planned we were supposed to go to R.A.K museum and then head for Khat Hot springs .. which was sadly closed and would open only after a year .... below are the pictures to give you a more interesting approach to the trip :) .. have fun and take care guys ..

k now to a person staying in the UAE this is a pretty wierd and scary road .. coz its 2 lanes .. one going one coming .. and there are no loghts at all .. !! . so we were trying to get out before it got too dark !! .. and also .. as u can see on both sides there was sand ... now to us thats like something we see everyday .. but to the trainees and our new MC thats like us going to a foreign country and seeing snow .... to them it was Fascinating !!! :P .. pictures below shall describe more :P ..

Visit to the Musem and Heritage Village !

Well .. yet another week has gone by and we wanted to take the trainees to see what Dubai's culture was all about so what better place to take them than the Dubai Museum and Heritage Village ... unfortunately most of the trainees could not make it due to work and other issues .. but one of our trainees Martin still made it ... it was a different experience for him and just about the same feeling for the members itself as they had not seen the museum in a while either lol .. so it was pretty interesting ... who all came ?? There was me,Deepak,Basma,Vrej,Rana,Rana's Friend ( cannot rmmbr her name ) Martin and Daniel.

Well that concludes our Museum trip .. so after this we decided to go to Heritage Village .. about a 15 minute drive from the musem we headed there ... but before we left we had to take a memorial picture !

Heritage Village is basically a small souq sorta place near the creek where you can see how they make traditional bread and dress up in the National Costume and take some interesting pictures .. also you get to have Shisha by the creek and for the Ladies ... put some Henna ( its like putting a tattoo but it would involve no pain !! )

Trainees in Abu Dhabi ...

Well after so long of talking about bringing the trainees to Abu Dhabi it finally happened !! ... this weekend was crazy ... I literally travelled after calculating ..... 722 km !!! .. all in a day !! .. but it was loads of fun :) ... hehe ... hmm so who all were present .... well there was Myself :) , Deepak, Vrej,Daniel,Melica,Valentina,Onur,Srinivas and Martin. !! .. so yea .. was happy about the turn out .. although wished more members would have been able to come .. but its a friday .. totally understandable :) ... k so we started from Dubai at around .. 12 30 .. and reached Abu dhabi by 2:30 or so ... and after reaching the "Garden City" we decided to go to the biggest mall in Abu dhabi ..... 'Abu Dhabi mall !! " hehe .. now check this out ... we went there at 2 30 in the afternoon .. and most of the shops were closed !! :S .. and would open only after 3:30 pm .. :S:S:S:S .. verry verry wierd !! ... but neways .. Melica,Valentina and Daniel still went around looking for Bargains as there were masssive sales going on :) .. hehe ... Srini,Onur and Vrej went for pirates of the carribean .... some said it was great while others still not sure if they liked this one or the first one better !! ...... Martin,Myself and Deepak .. went for AIESEC UAE's National sport .. ( aka the only sport that does not involve too much physical movements and is usually indoors ) .... Bowling ! .. hehe ...

( btw he got a gutter when he threw the ball but thats a completely different story .. you guys can make what you want with this picture as they say .. a pic can speak a 1000 words !

here .. mr menon the great shows his skills and style in perfection ... after many attempts he finally got the right accuracy and hit 1 pin !! :D .. hooray ! !

hehe .. after this .. we kept roaming around the mall waiting for the rest of the guys to finish .... so then around half past 5 we all met up and decided to go have shisha and get something to eat .... now being the Abu Dhabi resident .. people expected me to know where things are around here .... but .... i dint !! .. Vrej had to call up his cuzz and find out a good place to have shisha .. and trust me the place he found .. was brilliant ... it was this local cafe .. right next to the corniche ... !! .. it had the view of the Abu Dhabi skyline .. as well as the emirates palace ..

k this is one of the views from the shisha joint ...... also there were these jet ski guys who were trying to impress us by doing stunts .. and first was pretty cool ... then just got irritating hehehe ...

General ..

This section is to put in any random thing i could think of .. for example .. the development of Dubai .... Dubai is growing amazzingly fast .. and here are a few pictures that would be very useful to keep for the future ... :)

Forget the vehicle for the moment ... the area behind .. is gonna be craazy ... at the moent you can see around 2 towers there ..... estimated target ... 90 towers more !!!!!!!!! this place is going to be havoc when it comes to construction !! .. where will all these people come from .. and how will they be accomodated on the roads ... im sure Dubai must have planned for all these .. but it better be soon coz it may cause problesm later on .... .

Next we go on to a project everyone is looking forward to ... take a look at this picture ...

Burj Dubai ..... the supposidly tallest tower in the world ... its floor count is not yet sure of but from a a few sources .. it is at an avergave between 130 - 150 floors ... it is going to change the way people think of Dubai ... and its coming up real fast .. people living in the city will tell you that they though they had not seen that construction last week !! ... its that quick ... there are other projects happening in dubai as well .. which is very impressive .. such as ...

Cuzzins came over ..

hmm .. friday .. the day to sleep late .. take rest . .and have some fun .... well it did not start of that way .. so i did not think the rest of the day would go to well either ... it started off by me going down to the supermarket to get some stuff ... then this female reverses her damn car onto my foot .. and then pushes off ... @!$@# ... neways .. went to my family doc .. and took a look at it .. the guy thought i was crazy coming to him for something as small as that ... coz it was just a bruise .. and he had the cheek to ask me if a cycle went over it .. !!! .. i wanted to smack him on his head when he said that ... neways he gave me this cream .. and told me to apply it and it will get better in a few hours ... well that did happen .. .. it became better . . so then my cuzzins came over .. all the way from Dubai .. and Sharjah ... ( i have family all over the place hehe ) ... Abhay from Dubai and Sid from sharjah ... so they came over and we were watching some tele deciding on what to do ... so we decided to go to to Marina mall .. get some cash from my mom .... then go to Abu Dhabi mall , have lunch .. bowl there for a while .. ( btw incase i forgot to mention .. Daniel was with us as well !! .. then do some shopping .. then go to Maria centre ( or thats what i think it s called ) .. go to the arcade there .. and play a few games .. and then also .. bowl again !! ... :S:S .. wierd how much we bowled in that one day ... yet we all suck ! ...

Ice Skating ..

Now being in Dubai ... we really do not get to see too much snow .. or even ice .. the only ice we get here is either at home in the fridge .... or at a couple of places where they provide ice rinks and so on .... but .. its been quite a while since most of the people that i know have been to these places ... some have had bad experiences in the past .. which have caused them to hate the so called "sport" ... now AIESECers in Dubai tried to challenge themselves and go for this daring act ... some pretending that they know how to skate .. while others already predicting which hospital they will be admitted to ...... so we take our tranees along so thata they could geta feel and Im pretty sure they would do better than us having seen snow their whole lives .... so these are all who came .... there was me :), Fallon,Basma,Deepak,Daniel,Vrej, Rahul ... and amongst the trainees there was Onur and Melica... as the pictures below show .... most of us sucked ... the Daniel,Onur and Melica being their first and second time .. was doing better than us ! .. we looked like the four actors from the movie "Cool runnings" .. barely could stand on the ice hehehe ... well take a load of some of the pics .. il be posting the rest of t he funny ones later on hehe :D:D:D ... hehe ..

well .. an hour after we skated .. we got tired ... over here you can see me looking at something .. it was this skater .. who was dancing on ice .... fal n basma on the other hand were looking at someother guy who they fancied ! :P:P ...

The rest of us have finished our second lap ...... yet ... deepak .. still on his first .... well to his support .. he was observing the rest of us to see if we were doing good .. :P ..

This ... our Local office wall ... very colorful ... but still needs a lot of work ... which we are planning on working out ... Hur has some really funky ideas that he would be willing to share with us .. and if any of you guys do have ideas ..let me know .. we can spend a day making it look better . ..

Daniel had attended one of our General Body meetings and I am sure after that he must have thought we were freaks hehe .... there was a particular excercise ( Team Building ) that we had to do ... this is how it went ...

It started off by Fallon dividing us into 2 teams of four ... Me,Deepak,Basma and Hur in one team .. while Rana,Vrej,Daniel and Rahul in the other team ... k fair enough ..... we were then told to think of an object .. any physical object ..... my brilliant team thought of me !! ... Im an OBJECT to them .. !!! ... oh well .. what the heck .... then .. the other team took Lalit's Boxers as their object ... next .. Fallon gave us a piece of paper ... and just told us the rules ... that we were to draw the object that we thought of on the paper ..... :::: me n my team were zapped .. how the hell are we gonna draw me !! ... then it became even worse ... she then took out these 2 crayon looking objects and said that we had to draw it with these ... what was that tiny object ... nota crayon .. but a lipstick !!! ... k we still thought we had a chance since it was only drawing ... then yet another catch came up ... we had to apply the lipstick .. and kiss the paper to create our object .... at this point ... we looked at each other in total shock .. and said to ourselves .. what have we gotten ourselves into lol !! ..... so we did our kissing hear and there and created a freakishly ugly version of me ... which made us win coz of our creativity .... ( or people look at me in a very different way as to the way i see myself in the mirror !! ) .. anyways the result of it is shown below ! .. enjooyyy ... ( P.S ... it was great fun though !! )

..... the end result was a picture of an Avinash .. from the planet Borickberg !!!!!! ... but we still won :P ... hehe ... k the next day ... we had taken Daniel along with some of our trainees for bowling .. and some Sheesha ! ....

National Summer Conference 2006

AIESEC National Summer Conference 2006 ... Truly a new beginning for us as it was the year we worked on our Compendium .... yes finally we have a Compendium !! wo0o0o ho0o0o ....

All in all the conference was fantastic .. I must say it was very well organized .. ( this goes to me as being OCP as well :P ) hehe ... and also great job to my 2 OC mates Fallon Valentine and Rahul Mohnani ... the best OC anyone can have :D ..... and special thanks to Rana Sajnani ... My mentor !! ... you helped me a lot dude and I appreciate it ...

At first we thought the conference would not go so well as we did not have many delegates .. being a small LC it is hard to plan for a smal lgroup of people but eventually we did achieve it ...

The conference theme was " a new beginning " to show that we have started a new life and going to grow in the right direction ..... :) ..

The conference took place in Umm Al Quwain at a resort called Baracuda Beach Resort. .. a really nice place with a damn good view from the rooms as you can see below :)

Now the sessions ... I must say this conference ... seemed like the sessions were shorter ... maybe it was we were actually interested in the topics that were discussed that time flew by so quickly .... or it could be that most of us slept of and dont remember wheter it was long or not :P hehe jk faci's ...

The Jives :

AIESEC UAE is very famous for this .... we love making our own steps to existing jives .. and the mor ewe do it the more we confuse ourselves and eventually a whole new jive is made up from it ..... like i mentioned earlier to my LC .... we are probably the most uncoordinated bunch of AIESECers hehe
